Strangers by the Kinks.  With lyrics and chords, enjoy.

Can’t get enough of this song.  Amazing band, amazing album, amazing tune.  Recently heard on the soundtrack for Wes Anderson’s The Darjeeling Limited.

Here are the lyrics. And the chords.

G

C ………………………..F………G…….

Where are you going I don’t mind.

……C ……………………………..F ………….G
I’ve killed my world and I’ve killed my time.

…..C ………………F ………….G
So where do I go what do I see?

………C……………………….. F ….. G
I see many people coming after me.

…..C ……………………………..F…….. E
So where are you going to?  I dont mind.

…..Am ………………….F ……….C
If I live too long I’m afraid I’ll die.

…..F………………………….C………….E
So I will follow you wherever you go,

…………Am …………………… F ……….C
If your offered hand is still open to me.

E………………………Am …………F
Strangers on this road we are on.

C …………..G…………….C                    F  C  G

We are not two we are one.

2.
So you’ve been where I’ve just come.
From the land that brings losers on.
So we will share this road we walk.
And mind our mouths and beware our talk.
till peace we find tell you what I’ll do.
All the things I own I will share with you.
If I feel tomorrow like I feel today,
We’ll take what we want and give the rest away.

ch.
Strangers on this road we are on.
We are not two we are one.

3.
Holy man and holy priest,
This love of life makes me weak at my knees.
And when we get there make your play,
’cause soon I feel you’re gonna carry us away
In a promised lie you made us believe.
For many men there is so much grief,
And my mind is proud but it aches with rage.
And if I live too long I’m afraid I’ll die.

ch.
Strangers on this road we are on.
We are not two we are one.
Strangers on this road we are on.
We are not two we are one.

enjoy.  any questions about how to play this will be addressed below (leave a comment). click on “chords” above for chord charts.  click on “strangers” above to watch someone play the song.

Based out of Washington, DC, this nationally touring band has been compared to “Alison Krauss and the Band” by the Washington Post, and touts Levon Helm’s own horn players on their catchy single “South Carolina Blues.” [...]

Harvey’s Kitchen: Amelia’s Mechanics, Part 1

Around a year ago, Molly McGinn ventured into our kitchen with a small outfit she hustled together from local musicians which she fondly called her “Buster Dillys.”
Over the course of the following 15 months or so she encountered Molly Miller and together with Kasey Horton they formed Amelia’s Mechanics, very quickly releasing their first album, [...]
