Monkeywhale Does Miami!

2 Comments 29 Apr, 2011

Last month, we here at Monkeywhale Productions packed our (rather large, according to some) bags and headed to Miami to see our 2010 48 Hour Film on the big screen as part of the Miami International Film Festival.  It was a fun-filled, educational, and quite inspiring three days.  Between attending seminars and watching really great 48 Hour films from all over the world, we managed to squeeze in a good bit of people watching, mojito drinking, city wandering and picture taking.  Oh, and partying with Andy Garcia!  (See pic below.)  With the techno music rolling out over South Beach at (literally) all hours of the day, we got the distinct sense that Miami is a city where the entertainment never stops.

Much to our delight, our film got a great audience reaction and we had the opportunity to meet some really talented filmmakers.  Many kudos to the winning team from London who made a downright wonderful film that in no way betrays the fact it was made in two days.  They have risen the bar in an almost scary way.  There were many fantastic films and we were proud to be in such good company.  Check them out if you have some time.  Many thanks to all our MWP peeps who got us to Miami!   More fun adventures to come…
