A few words from my mother who lives in Welfleet, Cape Cod.  She is one of our monkeywhale spotters here on the east coast.

Here’s what we received via real mail:

“Is the monkeywhale any safer these days?  I sure hope so.  The poor endangered animal!  It’s shameless really, how it has been mistreated and forgotten by so many.  Maybe Barack will have some sympathy and send out some money to help!  None have been seen in these waters as of  late, but I keep watching the horizon.”

Six monkeywhales were sighted off Cape Cod last fall.  None since.  Thanks to all the spotters out there.
