It’s called measuring ahead of time.  Or maybe just taking a minute to visualize. Third year in a row we’ve gotten a Christmas tree for our apartment and for some reason today we just got carried away.  Maybe it was the sunshine.  Maybe it was the fact they had all just been discounted since Christmas is only four days away. Maybe it was the slightly insane state that has taken over here due to lots and lots of shooting and editing and posting in the last few weeks.  Or maybe it was just the challenge.  Not unlike the 20lb turkey we cooked for Thanksgiving.

“I’m not so concerned about the height, it’s the width that worries me,” I might have said.  Others appeared confident.  Enthusiastic, I might add.   So the fine gentlemen at Delancey Street strapped the tree to the roof of the car (which always guarantees laughter) and off we went.  How we even got it into the living room is beyond me. But it’s here and it’s beautiful and the whole house smells like Christmas.

How lovely are your branches…. and how massive.
