Tomorrow is our big day, folks. North Carolina is in the spotlight. The whole country will be keeping their eyes glued to four big states and you betcha, we’re one of them. Call us a “toss-up”, call us a “gold state”, call us whatever you want, let’s just hope that by late tomorrow night everyone is surprised at how the tides have turned in North Carolina.
Obama was in Charlotte tonight on election eve where he announced that his grandmother died today. Just one more day (unless, of course, this thing drags on for weeks) and she might have seen her grandson become the next President. North Carolina has a real chance of making this happen. I strongly urge you to try!
Get out there tomorrow and vote your little hearts out. Wait in line. Get up early or leave work early or call in sick or do whatever you have to. This one counts. Really, really, really counts. If you need a little motivation to make, what I think is the best choice, here’s a tidbit from a John McCain speech today…
“The fact that young people have not made up a larger share of early voters this year proves that Obama has failed in his mission to reshape the active voting population on a broad scale…The whole premise of Barack Obama’s campaign was, ‘We’re going to restructure the political dynamic in America.’ There has not been a restructuring…Where’s the youth vote? They come to his events. They wear nice shirts.”
Ha ha. They are nice shirts. But please prove them wrong. Show up tomorrow and vote. While Obama was visiting North Carolina over 20 times in the last year, McCain was assuming he had us in the bag until about a month ago when it came to his attention that North Carolina has changed. Or maybe it’s just ready for some semblance of change. I know I am.
