Harvey's Kitchen — Sam Frazier. One Take.

13 Comments 13 Feb, 2009

Musicians in Greensboro know Sam Frazier. He’s been playing music for decades with the likes of Scott “Scooter” Manring, Bruce Piephoff, David Driveway Moore, Walrus, the boys from Bus Stop, Tornado, Martha Bassett, Laurelyn Dossett, along with his own band, The Sam Frazier Band and the Hall Monitors with Lisa Dames.

He’s currently working on recording a new album and this is one of those new tracks, which incidentally he’s entering into this year’s Merlefest Songwriter contest. It’s great to hear him in the raw. If you get a chance to hear Sam live you won’t be disappointed.

Look out for two other songs in the next day or so.

Great song Sam. Hope this album does’t take as long as the last one.

This song is so bad ass! I get butterfly’s in my belly every time I listen to it. The same reaction occurs when ever I hear the song “Layla” by Eric Clapton. It’s one of those cool feelings that only music can bring.

  9. I took lessons from Sam for a year or two in the late 90′s, Sam taught me so much in such a short period of time. This video captures a lot of what our lessons were like, just Sam and the guitar, the student across from him. Thanks….Post more!

  10. new stuff from the master. let’s face it, “half a million years” was the least appreciated album in the last 10 years. to hear the local master is back in the studio is great news.

show us more. then give us the tunes.

  11. Sam has so much talent. Thanks for profiling the master of guitar and melodies. We are waiting on you,Sam, to give us a new disk to sing us sweetly to sleep and to sway away on Saturday nights. Would love to see/hear more. Cheers.
