Originally from Buffalo, New York, Frank Stasio now resides in Durham, North Carolina with his wife. He’s host of North Carolina Public Radio’s The State of Things. Carolyn and I have been avid fans of his show for some time, often staying in the car to listen to the end of a terrific interview with a photographer or musician or philosopher. The show focuses on people or issues that are relevant to the state of North Carolina or guests that travel through it for one reason or another.
My only contact with Frank Stasio was via Facebook. We spoke for the first time when he called me from my front porch to make sure he was at the right house.

Frank, you were great. So much more theatrical than I had anticipated. I figured you’d be a great interview, but. You sir. Are no Joaquin Phoenix.

I was fascinated learning about how Stasio came about his interviewing style. He and Haven Kimmel on going to have a casual conversation style interview at the NC State Friends of the Library Spring Meeting, Wed., April 8th at 6:00 p.m. with a cocktail reception. Reservations required. For more details, call 919.515.2841. Can’t wait to hear more.
