Harvey's Kitchen — Come Hell or High Water, Part 2

4 Comments 12 Feb, 2009

Suzanne Stafford. She’s been in Greensboro for some time and used to be lead singer for a band called, “Scarlet Harlot” which is no longer with us. Come Hell or High Water hasn’t played out in over a year due to the rigors of motherhood and working full time as a bartender at College Hill Sundries. Carolyn and I have been friends with Suzanne for quite some years now and the way she came to play in the kitchen has an interesting twist.

Facebook. So, I befriended a Suzanne S. on Facebook thinking it was the same Suzanne we’ve known for years and then proceeded to converse via chat with this Suzanne about playing in the kitchen. For weeks. Suzanne was being extremely non-committal about the entire thing. Turns out I’d been talking to someone completely different. Phones work much better. Take it from me.

Anyway, playing along with Suzanne is Shane of the Royal Burgandy, Gael who’s played with Eating the Invaders, Molly McGinn and countless others, and Matty who is ubiquitous.

I took a step out of the kitchen last Sunday. It was glorious and I’d just experimented with tweaking my camera chip to simulate 70′s Fuji stock with a bit of 16mm grain for the memories. Hope it doesn’t ruin the feel.

Oh, and here’s Suzanne’s beautiful daughter in her performance debut.
