Harvey's Kitchen — Holy Ghost Tent Revival

Throughout this interview were 5 people constantly playing music. I’d ask a question. Contemplation. The silence would be interrupted by a contemplative melody on a banjo or guitar. In the 2 hours we had the pleasure of listening to these guys, they displayed the kind of energy you only see in working bands. Music. Music. Music.

Henri Cartier-Bresson once said something to the effect that true beauty emerges when the artist allows accidents to happen and HGTR is brimming with happy accidents.

They drive around the country in a Ford Econoline van, circa 1983, fondly nicknamed the good ship pillowtalk, crammed with amps and instruments and empty fast food bags. Tour stops in the next two months span over North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Ohio, West Virginia and New York.

On December 29th, they will appear with Molly McGinn and Paleface at Studio B on South Elm Street in downtown Greensboro.

On January 2nd they’ll be appearing with Eating the Invaders at the Pour House in Raleigh.
I think we’ll be seeing a lot more of these guys.
