ArtBeat Greensboro is a weeklong celebration of the Arts.  May 1st-10th.

For the kickoff of ArtBeat on May 1st, Josephus will hold an open mic at Festival Park next to the Greensboro Cultural Center.

“Josephus III can often be found on stage accompanied by dancers, singers and musicians that help tap the rhythm of life and bring new meaning and understanding to his words. Life is a collective experience, a group effort, a journey that we must work together to complete. Everyday he searches for new ways to use his gifts and abilities to pursue the hopes, dreams, ambitions and purpose of his life. Josephus III, Poet, Entrepreneur, Teacher, Dreamer, Visionary, Mentor, Brother, Son.”

Harvey K. Robinson is the cinematographer, editor, and director at Monkeywhale Productions. Originally from Derby, England he now resides in Greensboro, NC where he began a web series documenting musicians and artists from all over the country. Recipient of the 2009 HearNC "Marks, Stern and Thomas Award," winner of the 2010 48 Hour Film Festival Greensboro, and Betty Cone Medal of the Arts Nominee for 2011, his work has appeared as featured videos on Paste Magazine, E!News, and Aol spinner. Harvey’s commercial work has garnered 2 silver Addy awards in the past 2 years. With a background in Directing at NC School of the Arts and many years spent as a professional actor, Harvey brings a multi-disciplinary approach to each new creative endeavor whether it be a short film, music video, documentary, or commercial.

    I’m impressed…this spot was particularly well shot and engaging. Love the juxtaposition of the isolationist black & white with the colorful use of language. ? Purple squirrels in Chuck Taylors though? :o )
