Laurelyn Dossett, is a resident of Greensboro and a prolific songwriter. In addition to playing in the award winning Polecat Creek, she’s written songs for Brother Wolf, Beautiful Star and Bloody Blackbeard, all original productions co-written by Triad Stage Artistic Director, Preston Lane.
For Brother Wolf, Laurelyn composed the song “Anna Lee” which through an encounter with Larry Campbell in New York found it’s way onto Levon Helm’s Grammy Award winning Dirt Farmer Album.
In this short piece, Laurelyn with local guitar legend Scott Manring, play an as-yet untitled new song. This was the first time Scott had heard the song and so you get a rare glimpse into his musical process. Thank you Laurelyn and Scott. A true joy.

This is such a great site! So glad to see Laurelyn perform. I saw Brother Wolf and was so impressed with it, music and all. Preston Lane grew up in Boone, and his parents are in my Sunday School class.
