Our dear friend, Monkeywhale Member #004 Matty Sheets, came by the house last week with two of his esteemed Blockheads, Emily Stewart and Jessica Pennell (affectionately known to us Monkeywhalers as Lil P’).  Unfortunately I was out of town that night, but by what I can see and hear from the video they spontaneously made, it must have been a lot of fun.  Luckily for me, Matty and Lil’ P came back by another evening for some wacky and stylish b-roll so I was able to grab a few shots of those two in all their splendor.  The Blockheads are a very entertaining and very talented bunch and if you haven’t heard them play out yet you will have several chances in the next few weeks including the St. Patty’s Day Party at McCoul’s, in downtown Greensboro, with the also awesome Greensboro band The Raving Knaves.  Hello!

The Blockheads’ very first album, recorded at On Pop of the World Studios, is in it’s final mixing stages and will be coming out very soon. We here at Monkeywhale Central can’t wait to get our hands on it.  Watch the video and go see these guys live.  They will most definitely make you happy.  And, don’t forget to support your local artists who’ve been working hard to keep you entertained in this city for a long ass time!
