Swimming Pool (a song)

2 Comments 09 Nov, 2008

You’re built of tile, cement and money.  Not much good in the winter, and I haven’t seen you since I last got a splinter.  I’ve driven the country twice, without washing my hair, but I ain’t no dirty doublecrosser.

You’re just a swimming pool… somebody’s lazy fool.  And I’ve got some feelings to foster.

You’re built of gears, metal and rubber.  Not much good in the bath, and I haven’t seen you since the last time you went flat.  I’ve driven the country twice, without taking a shower, but I ain’t no dirty doublecrosser.

You’re just a bicycle… transportation tool.  And I’ve got two feet, let me wander.

You’re built of bones, flesh and blood.  Not much good in a crisis, and I haven’t seen you since I last looked in a bottle.  I’ve blessed your bread twice, without washing my hands, but I ain’t no dirty doublecrosser.

You’re just a pretty girl… and I guess I’m the fool.  But I’ve got some feelings to foster.
